National Science Week 2018 – Australian Society for Parasitology events

The Australian Society for Parasitology (ASP) organized National Science Week Parasite Paradise at the Art Gallery of Ballarat from 11 – 19 August 2018. Over 500 people attended hands-on science events at the Gallery and one of the activities was “Science Book Readings” for children and families. The That’s RAD! Science book series was featured in the daily science book readings.

The ASP ran “Extraordinary Women in Parasitology” public event featuring the stories of trail-blazing women parasitologists at 5pm on Monday 8th July, at the Adelaide Convention Centre. This public event attracted over 200 visitors and included hands-on parasite activities for children. That’s RAD! Science books were used by the children attending this activity and were given as prizes for the best parasite model made by our young scientists.
